The Chinese New Year reunion dinner is very important to the people, not only in Malaysia, but also the overseas Chinese. It is like Christmas eve to the Americans, the break-year dinner is symbolic of the family unity, the tradition and culture that has been passed from generation to generation.

They must have this night together as a family, come what may, by hook or by crook.

Those working at a distant city, far away from their home town, will find their way home to be at the dining table together with their parents and siblings.

All the transportations are full, tickets were sold out long before the day ends, air flights, coaches, buses, and every form of transportation are all heading for the direction of their hometown. Imagine the enormous size of the crowds of the working class population in cities like Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh, Penang,  and many more cities with millions of people. They all heading for home at almost the same time.
